After a couple of days waiting for my computer and the Internet to catch up, I’m finally getting some NYC videos up and will be hitting the recap tonight as well.
Next two days are crazy for me, but I hope to publish quite a few videos and get underneath what’s waiting over the holiday weekend.

Sounds like you’re still having some problems with video slowing you down, I feel your pain on that front – is it a transcoding issue or uploading? I guess a two-prongued attack might help at this point:
(a) max out your RAM. At 4GB (or is it 6GB on the older aluminium imacs?) you should have a lot less issues than 1.5GB, which is probably pushing it to the limit. I recommend OWC for this, I managed to get pretty cheap RAM that way (a lot cheaper than Apple prices). Also, if you aren’t using it already Visual Hub has now been open sourced and is an awesome, lightweight option for transcoding stuff with somewhat breakneck speed in my experience (beats slowcoach QT pro and compressor a lot of the time)
(b) if you aren’t doing so already spool off footage to a firewire or other speedy external drive – using your boot drive as a scratch drive will both slow things down horribly AND screw up your boot drive way sooner than would be desirable
(c) Just as importantly, as we discussed in a recent chat, we ought to implement a policy for peoples’ uploads being pre-crunched. I assume that people wouldn’t try and send their raw, uncompressed video to YouTube, Vimeo etc. (it would never upload), so we should insist on under 1GB files that we can then upload directly to VideoPress. Better yet, if we could work on the previously talked of user-upload form that then somehow goes into moderation, that would be even better (cutting out the awkward and time consuming FTP up and download routine you have to go through at the moment)
Maybe we could post to the blog on a super-easy step-by-step process for crunching your videos with super, ffmpeg or visualhub (or any other free, open source, reasonably easy video transcode tool)
Let me know if I can help!

From your previous description of your mac I’m guessing you need either: http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/apple/memory/iMac/Intel_Core_2_Duo or http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/iMac/Intel_Core_2_Duo_PC2-6400
PS – what was visual hub is here: http://www.techspansion.com/ but that will just send you along to http://transcoderredux.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/transcoderredux/ if you want to save a step
